DAY 1: Phnom Penh – Arrival

Upon arrival Phnom Penh airport, our guide and driver will transfer you to hotel for check in. Standard check in time is 14:00.

DAY 2: Phnom Penh – City Tour

 After breakfast, visit Royal Palace, built by King Norodom in 1866 on the site of the old town, and the Silver Pagoda, located within the grounds of the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda is so named because of its floor, which is made up of 5000 silver tiles. Continue to visit Wat Phnom Temple, a small hill crowned by an active Wat (Pagoda) marks the legendary founding place of the Phnom Penh. 

Afternoon, visit to Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S21 prison). This prison was a high school, and used as a prison by Pol Pot’s security forces and became the largest center for detention and torture during the rule of the Khmer Rouge. Then continue to visit the notorious Killing Fields “ChoeungEk” 15km southwest of Phnom Penh. This one is the site of brutal executions of more than 17,000 individuals, most of who first suffered through interrogations, torture and deprivation in ToulSleng Prison during Pol Pot regime (From 1975–1979).

DAY 3: Siem Reap – Kampong Pluk

After the breakfast at hotel. Our driver and guide will transfer to Siem Reap province. The distance is about 312km which takes about 6 hours of driving. The road to Siem Reap we will stop at some places like Skun called Spider market, and Kampong Khdey Bridge. 

Also before reaching Siem Reap, we will visit fishing village of Kompong Phluk. Board a private boat and visit Kompong Pluk village with its houses standing on stilts and board a pirogue to discover the seasonally flooded forest (only available from Aug – Nov). Return back to mainland and continue the road to Siem Reap for check in hotel and rest for the day.

DAY 4:Siem Reap – Temple Tour (B)

 After breakfast at hotel, visit Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat is a World Heritage Site since 1992, famous for its beauty and splendor. Angkor Wat features the longest continuous bas-relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls and narrates stories from Hindu mythology. 

Afternoon, visit Satcha Handicraft Center is the first Cambodian handicraft center that incubates local artisans, mixing traditional knowledge with contemporary design to showcase Cambodian’ talents to local and international visitors and to transmit these know-hows over time while having a sustainable social, economic, and environmental impact. Then drive around the city or stop by at Old Market, a lively outdoor market where you will find antiquities, silver and gold jewelry, gems, silk, kramas, stone and wood carvings, as well as T-Shirts, CDs and other souvenirs.  

Tonight, you may schedule to spend your dinner at Pub Street, the #1 tourist destination for 2015 rated by Trip Advisor. Over here, you will have tons of food venders, bars, and other entertainments. (On your own)

DAY 5: Siem Reap – Kulen Mountain – City Tour

Morning, we drive off the city and visit Kulen Mountain or Phnom Kulen is declared as a National Park. It is an isolated mountain massif located in Svay Leu District and some 48km from Siem Reap. Its highest point is 487 meters. This is widely regarded as the birthplace of the ancient Khmer Empire. During the constructional period of the ancient temples in the Nineth century, sand stones were brought from this sacred mountain to Angkor.  It was here at Phnom Kulen that King Jayavarman II proclaimed independence from Java in 802 A.D. After explore the surrounding nature, pay a respect to visit the reclining Buddha statue. 

Afternoon, visit to Banteay Srei temple (10th century), regarded as the jewel in the crown of classical Khmer Art. Then continue your visit to Banteay Samre, build in the third quarter of the 12th century. It consists of a central temple with four wings preceded by a hall and accompany by two libraries, the southern example remarkably well preserved.

DAY 6: Siem Reap – Bayon Temple – Ta Prohm – Tonle Sap

After breakfast at hotel, we go out to visit the antique capital of Angkor Thom (12 century): The South Gate with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk, the Bayon Temple, unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara, the Phimeanakas, the Royal Enclosure, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. Prohm Temple, one of the area’s most beautiful temples. The temple of Ta Prohm was once used as a location in the famous Hollywood film Tomb Raider.

Afternoon, we excursion to visit the floating village of Chong Khneas, located 10 kilometers south of Siem Reap. Take a traditional wooden boat for a ride on the Tonle Sap Lake, the “Great Lake” of Cambodia, one of the largest in Asia and flows into Tonle Sap River, joining the Mekong in Phnom Penh. We will see a fishermen’s “floating village” with floating schools, floating police station, etc. It is same as a big village floating on the lake, and the “village” move from place to place following water levels and current.

DAY 7: Siem Reap – Departure (B)

Breakfast at hotel, free until time to transfer (no guide) to Siem Reap airport for flight to next destination.
